Dr David Evans
Managing Director and CEODr Evans is one of Australia’s most experienced professionals in commercialising the outcomes of Australian research. He is a former Managing Director of Uniquest, Australia’s most successful university-based technology commercialisation company, and was also foundation CEO of Uniseed, the joint venture seed fund established by the University of Queensland and the University of Melbourne. He has played a leading role in more than 50 commercialisation deals, including Ian Frazer’s Human Papilloma Virus (Cervical Cancer) Vaccine deal with CSL/Merck and David Doddrell’s Eddy-Current MRI deal with GE Medical Systems, both regarded as benchmarks that have set the standard for Australian commercialisation.
